Knitting and Queuing but mostly Queuing...

Oh dear Ravelry. How I heart you so! With your endless pattern selection and a queue to place them in. I have spent the last few days (weeks) knitting, crocheting but, mostly looking up new projects I can make LOL. Right now on my needles is the 2nd of a pair of pocketbook slippers. As soon as I finish them I will be casting on for a matching headband to wear with the slippers. I have put the squares not really on hiatus. I was just starting to get bored so I moved on to something else for a while. I am so happy to have my love for knitting and crochet back! It was put on the back burner for a long time but, it has become a wonderful hobby of mine again!

2.5 squares done, and a new project.

I finished the 2nd square to my 2009 afghan project. It is looking pretty bland so with these next squares I will be adding in more colors. I have also decided that I really need to literally branch out with my knitting and crochet. I have always done washcloths, granny squares, and other short, sweet, SQUARE projects. So, I have been eye-ing the Branching Out lace scarf from the Spring 2005 Knitty. I am working it in Caron Simply Soft Eco in the colorway "Ocean Mist". It was turning out oh so pretty yet everytime I start this project (I've started it three times already) I mess up on row 5 of the pattern. I'm going to try once more and see how it goes. I'll be back later with pictures hopefully.

Finally taking part...

I signed up for the 2009 Block A Month CAL at the beginning of the year but, never participated. Well I finally decided to jump in. I'm spending the week at my moms. I brought my knitting and crochet bag with me, but no projects to do so I was trying to find something to work on. I started with the 2009 January block (there's a 2008 CAL as well on Ravelry. The block is called Mandala.

There's my version of it and if you aren't on Ravelry (which you so should be!) here's a pic of it!
